How do I join
a club or group?
Not all clubs require formal membership.
For Special Interest Groups and Regional Clubs
that require dues, you may join the club by going to the club’s
web site. First find the club or group you’re looking
for from the All
Groups page. Click on the hyperlinked club name and it
will take you to the club Home page. From the club Home page,
click on the Get Involved link from the left navigation bar.
Under Get Involved, click on Join the Club and follow the
instructions provided. Only clubs and groups that require
formal membership have the Join the Club option on their web
site.
For Regional Clubs that do not require dues,
all alumni living in the club’s region are considered
members. In this case, to ensure you are included as a member
of your Regional Club, please click here to update your
Profile. You will not appear in the club’s directory
unless you have a current home or work address in the club’s
region. For example, if your current address is in Chicago,
Illinois, you will be listed in the Kellogg Alumni Club of
Chicago’s club directory. Please note that when you
update your Profile, you will not appear in the new Regional
Club’s directory until the following day. The directories
are refreshed once daily overnight.
To receive emails from a Special Interest
Group or club outside of your designated region, join the
club’s email subscription list by going to Network Tools
and clicking on Email
Subscriptions.
Why don’t
I see myself in a club or group’s directory?
For Regional Clubs
the club directory displays all alumni who fall within the
defined club geographic region based upon a defined set of
zip codes, states or countries. Alumni with a current home
or work address within the club geographic region will appear
in the club directory, whether or not they are a paid member.
The directories are updated nightly. So if
you move, simply update your
Profile with your new home and work address, and you will
appear in your new region’s club directory within 24
hours. For example, if you move from Chicago to London, once
you’ve updated your Profile with your new address information,
you will no longer be listed in the Kellogg Alumni Club of
Chicago’s club directory. You will be listed in the
Kellogg Alumni Club of London’s club directory.
If you wish to continue to receive Chicago
Club newsletters or other electronic communications, simply
update your Email Subscriptions preferences and opt-in to
the Chicago subscriptions.
Special Interest Groups are
opt-in only, so an alum may choose to join as many Special
Interest Groups as he or she is interested in. Once you’ve
joined a Special Interest Group, you will be listed in their
directory. To join a Special Interest Group, see the How
do I join a club or group? question of this help text.
Who is
eligible to join an alumni club or group?
Any Kellogg alum is eligible to join
a club or Special Interest Group.
In addition, current Kellogg students may join a club or Special
Interest Group. Student information will not appear in the
club directory, but they may receive electronic communications
from the club or group as well as attend events.
If you are a student interested in becoming involved
with a Kellogg Alumni Club or Special Interest Group, you
have two options:
- For clubs that require
membership fees, you may join the club from the club’s
web site (you will be required to pay the membership fee)
- Add yourself to the
club’s Email
Subscriptions list to receive email communications
How
do I add myself to a club's Email Subscription list?
To
add yourself to an email subscription list, go to Email
Subscriptions under Network Tools and select the Email
Subscriptions you would like to receive. Your choices of types
of emails to receive include:
- Kellogg School
- Regional Clubs
- Classes
- Special Interest Groups
You may also access Email Subscriptions from
the Account Preferences link on your Profile
Update page.
How
long does my club or group membership last?
Membership terms are good for one year unless otherwise stated
on the Kellogg Alumni Club or Special Interest Group’s
web site. If you would like to extend your membership, or no
longer wish to be listed in the group’s directory (for
Special Interest Groups only), contact the club leader listed
on the Home or Contact page of the club or group’s web
site.
