Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

Account & Password

How do I get an account?
All graduates since 1997 were automatically issued an account. If you graduated before 1997, please Create an Account by filling out our online form. Input several key identifiers, we’ll verify your Kellogg affiliation and once your alumni status has been verified your Kellogg alumni account will be automatically generated. Access to the Kellogg Alumni Network takes just a couple minutes.

How do I use my account?
You will use your account to authenticate on the alumni server. Once authenticated, you have access to many secured services on the alumni web site including Kellogg’s alumni directory, job postings and email forwarding.

What is my account name?
Your unique account name identifies you to the server and is needed anytime you access your account or attempt to make profile changes.

For Full-time, TMP and EMP alumni your account name is the first initial of your first name, your last name and the year you graduated. For example, alumnus John Smith who graduated in 1997 would have an account name of: jsmith1997

For Executive Education alumni your account name is the first initial of your first name plus your last name followed by -exed. For example, alumnus John Smith would have an alumni account of: jsmith-exed

What is my password?
Your password is your "key" to logging onto our system and accessing your account. Guard this carefully! Do not give it to anyone. Your password will be assigned when your account is assigned. If you forget this password or wish to change it, you can click here to reset it.

Why doesn't my new password work?
If your new password doesn't work and you've changed your password in the past 30 minutes, please try again later. It can sometimes take 30 minutes or more for your new password to be updated throughout the system.

If you have Windows XP and have used the AutoComplete or Remember my Password feature, your system may have cached your old password. If so, your system will try to access the web site using your old password, even though you're typing in your new one. To clear any cached passwords, open your Internet browser and go to Tools-->Internet Options-->Content-->AutoComplete-->Clear Passwords and clear out any old passwords.

How do I send email to a fellow alum that I know has an account?
Send your email to John Smith, of the class of 1997, by addressing it to jsmith1997@kellogg.northwestern.edu or look him up in the online Alumni Directory.

What if I still have questions?
If you have any questions or trouble with your account, contact our Alumni Relations office by phone (847-467-ALUM) or by email.
